ABOUT THE ARTIST

Nicoló Degiorgis (Bolzano, 1985) has studied chinese in the Venetian Univercity Ca' Foscari. Following his studies he moved to Hong Kong and then Bejing to continue his research. His photographic practice started with the internship that he took at Magnum Photos in Paris. In 2008 he received an acclaimed scholarship from the italian creative institution Fabrica - the research center of communication run by the Benetton group.

 

In 2009 he starts working as a researcher at the Faculty of Political Studies of the Triest University, where he carries out research about the contemporary immigration issues. At the same time he is invited to the residency run by the art foundation Fondazione d’arte Bevilacqua La Masa in Venice.

 

From 2009 he is represented by the Contrasto photo agency.

 

He is also a founder of RORHOF - a studio producing books, exhibitions and workshops around photography. We are based in an old farm in the city of Bolzano Bozen in the north of Italy.
