Shooting Documentaries
Level: Video - Confident Beginner
Documentary can one of the most powerful mediums for storytelling when shot in a compelling way and with adept technique.
In this workshop, after a thorough theoretical presentation, you will learn by doing as you shoot your own mini-documentary over the course of the day, together with your fellow workshop participants. Valentina will ensure that you learn the key technical tips and techniques for shooting B-roll and capturing clean audio, as well as conducting different styles of interviews, directing non-actors, and setting up a talking head shot.
This workshop focuses on shooting, but does not cover editing video. For editing, the recommended follow-on workshop is Introduction to Editing Video or Intensive Video Editing or both, according to your current level and goal.
You can watch on Valentina's Youtube Channel some of the videos that she has directed.
