For the photographers of all skills levels who are looking to transfer their skills to video, this half-day seminar will provide you with the film school crash-course, led by video extraordinaire Valentina Vee, to prepare you to dive right in.
After briefly reviewing some fundamentals that apply to photography and video, such as aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and composition, you’ll move onto learning the features of your DSLR or Mirrorless camera that will allow you to unlock its video potential. You’ll learn how to approach a scene, taking color, frame rate and camera movement into consideration. Additionally, she’ll review how to record sound, as you discover the various type of microphones and the pro’s and con’s for different purposes.
This seminar is designed to introduce you to the fundamentals of video with a lecture and without hands on exercises. For testing these lessons out in practice, we suggest continuing on to Valentina’s workshops, Shooting Music and Fashion and Shooting Documentaries.

Valentina Vee
Valentina Vee is a Content Director living in Los Angeles, making videos for brands and campaigns all over the world. Before starting her own production company, she was the Creative Content Director of Aputure, a popular video lighting brand. She is a top Premiere Pro and After Effects educator, having taught workshops and lectures on behalf of Adobe for the past three years. She specializes in creating compelling content with a positive message as well as consulting with companies on how to make authentic, well-executed videos for their audiences.
