Art & Business of Wedding Photojournalism
Level: Photography - Intermediate
Since 2008 Kevin has been shooting a style of wedding photography widely known as “wedding photojournalism” or “documentary wedding photography”.
This workshop is for photographers who want to explore the Wedding Photojournalism genre. It’s also beneficial for photographers who want to hone their skills for shooting candidly at weddings and even photographers who want to simply understand more about shooting families in a photojournalistic style. This class will focus on shooting style, observation skills, gear, and post-processing. We’ll discuss weddings, as well as Kevin’s approach to 'Day in the Life' family photography.
Alongside discussions about how Kevin shoots, the configurations he uses and why he use them, we will also concentrate on building a brand to attract the right clients, client acquisition, and education.
Through that, you will get a glimpse of how to use and understand human touch, emotion, and capturing the candid moments without intervention or staging. We’ll talk about the do’s, the don’ts and working through each stage of the wedding to capture the storytelling images.
Later in the day we will look at how Websites, SEO, and Social Media play an integral part into allowing Kevin to build his business.
